Continuous Circulation Drilling is now possible using an NOV CCS (National Oilwell Varco Continuous Circulation System) and is now commercially available from NOV. Drilling with a CCS is expected to save an average of $1million per well drilled onshore, and considerably more offshore.

The CCD minimizes and eliminates many drilling problems. It enables the drilling of otherwise undrillable wells and is significantly safer. The CCD is now in use by Statoil, ConocoPhillips, Petrobras and has made over 2000 connections without CCS NPT (Non Production Time).
